June 18, 2012 -- Following the opening remarks, bargaining began with the company passing three (3) proposals which were characterized as clean up language in numerous contract articles and appendices. These proposals were not as innocent as the company advertised. Discussion ensued for the remainder of the day and the Union team addressed the issues the next day in caucus.
We agree with some of the issues the company raised while others were previously agreed to by Memorandum of Agreement or Letter of Agreement and will be advertised on a future report once a tentative agreement is reached on any issue. The remaining issues are either still being discussed, have been rejected, or will be addressed by a Union counter proposal. As issues are resolved they will be included in the bargaining reports.
Thank you South Carolina for the nice fruit arrangement.
