AT&T Puerto Rico Mobility Bargaining February 9, 2015 Union?s Opening Statement
We, the Bargaining Committee, are proud to represent the CWA members in the AT&T Puerto Rico Mobility Contract.
We are committed to reach an agreement that is just for our members and fair for AT&T Mobility.
The CWA Bargaining Committee stands ready to negotiate a contract that meets legitimate needs of the Company while at the same time providing for the needs and aspirations of the members we represent.
I feel confident we can reach a settlement that will achieve satisfaction for both parties.
AT&T Mobility has been very successful in Puerto Rico as well as in the States. The corporate parent, AT&T, knows the success of the company is tied to the success of the wireless side and we want a share of that success. There is no reason for any concessionary proposals from the company.
The Union does not propose significant changes in the existing contract; however, we do expect a substantial wage increase and improvement in language that has not met the needs of the membership.
ADDITIONALLY, WE NEED TO ADDRESS ISSUES AFFECTING EMPLOYEES THAT WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ADDRESS THROUGH CONTRACT LANGUAGE.
IN CONCLUSION “WE DESERVE BETTER BECAUSE WE ARE WORTH IT”.
