2011 CWA/ATT Mobility Puerto Rico Bargaining Report #6

Your bargaining Committee met with the Company Wednesday morning to continue discussions. The company continued an explanation on their Domestic Partner language, assuring the Union that the proposed change did not reduce the benefits provided by the current language. They said it only enhanced the eligibility. The company then rejected the Union proposal to eliminate some of the management rights under Article 13 section 5 – Work Assignments. After that the Company passed counter proposals to the Union proposals on Article 12, Article 14, Article 15, and Article 17. After responding to questions from the Union about their changes to our proposals, the company stated they did not have anything else to present.

The Union rejected the company proposals on Article 13, increases in Time-in-Title and Location, and on Article 9, the arbitration language changes they wanted. After asking questions on the intent, the Union Tentatively Agreed (T/A) to company counter proposal on Article 12 section 2, schedule change notice, and their proposal on Article 16 section 1, joint safety committee for AT&T Puerto Rico. The Union then passed a revised proposal on Article 7 section 3, grievance time lines, based on the company response to our original proposal. The Union then asked clarifying questions regarding several current articles in the contract that refer to laws in Puerto Rico.

Neither party had anything else to present so we recessed to continue to work on additional proposals, prepare minutes and reports.

Bargaining will resume tomorrow morning and a report will be issued after the meeting concludes.
