Stand up for Public Sector Workers

CWA began in 1938 as a union that represented workers employed by telephone companies.

Today, CWA represents 700,000 working and retired men and women who organized together

for bargaining power and justice. Workers in many industries have organized with CWA, including

wireline and wireless, public sector, airlines, manufacturing, and media. We are much, much more

than a communications union. Over many years, the face of our membership has changed, but

our dedication to standing up and fighting for working men and women has not.
