2015 CWA ATT SE BARGAINING REPORT #41
Your bargaining committee met late into the evening Tuesday. We presented the company with a number of proposals intended to bring fairness, justice, and a balanced work/home life to our membership.
The parties tentatively agreed to one of our proposals allowing for more flexible use of vacation. At this point we have rejected company demands for more contracting of work and totally rejected their wanting to freeze pension contributions, increase healthcare premiums, and a number of other proposals meant to diminish our benefit plan.
At last night’s meeting we made it clear that we will not go backwards. Corporate profits are generated by a productive workforce and that workforce (you) deserve more than a management that treats its employees as insignificant objects.
Obtuse – annoyingly insensitive or slow to understand
