Local 3176 - CenturyLink (Winter Park) - Bargaining Report #1

Your bargaining team, consisting of Bill Eberhardt, Paul Gallant, Bob Kelley, and Greg Douglas met with the company on May 1st, 2nd, 2012.

On the first day, we presented a proposal for Recognition of the Union. The company also had a proposal on the same. The union then presented several proposals under miscellaneous conditions of work, including Bulletin Boards, Inclement Weather, Tools, Replacing Tools, Personnel Records, Coaching, Performance Appraisals, Employee Health and Safety, Safety Footwear, Safety Prescription Eyewear, Home Garaging, Pay Delivery and Orientation. The company then presented us with a proposal on Uniforms. The union then presented a proposal on Union Dues Deductions. The company said they would take it under consideration due to deduction issues with SAP.

On May 2nd, the company made a counter on our Inclement Weather proposal and we re-countered. They made a company proposal on Bulletin boards and we countered. No further action. They then put out a group of proposals on Strikes and lockouts, Non-discrimination and Pay delivery. The session ended with no agreements reached. No TA’s (Tentative Agreements) during this session.

Due to this being a new contract, we understand that bargaining may continue for a lengthy period of time. Our next scheduled meeting dates will be June 26th and 27th as the company is unavailable to bargain until that time.

In Unity,

Your Bargaining Team
