Your Bargaining Committee met with the company representatives Wednesday morning to continue discussions.
The Company rejected the Union proposals on Article 2, Article 3, Article 11 and Article 12. The reason they gave for all rejections was over the last four years they have not seen any issues that would require changes in the contract for these articles. Their response was ridiculous and we will respond to their rejections!
The company then passed proposals to change language in Article 21 absences, Article 16 – Safety, Article 13 Work assignments on Time-in-Title/Location, and Article 9 – Arbitration. They also passed a counter proposal to the Union proposal on Article 7 – Grievance Procedure. The Union said they would review the proposals and respond.
The Union passed new proposals on Article 12 – Hours of work, regarding “business needs”, and schedule change notice; Article 13 – Work Assignments, supervisors performing Bargaining Unit work; Article 14 – Force Adjustment, regarding notice to employees; and Article 15 – Non Discrimination, adding language on Union status. The company said they would consider our proposals and respond later.
We recessed for the day to continue to work on additional proposals and review the company responses.
Bargaining reports will be posted every day after we meet, or the next morning, depending on the time we conclude.
The contract expires Friday February 18th.
