2015 CWA Print Media Bargaining Report #7
August 19, 2015 -- Your Bargaining Committee met with the Company today and came to agreement to add language to inform former employees of their rehire status in a reasonable period of time. The company withdrew a proposal that would have allowed them to change the day that holidays are recognized by the company.
The company also expressed their ire in a Union proposal to make changes to Article 17.03 to allow Union Officers and Executives that are not employees of Print Media on company property even though the practice is allowed by the company presently.
The remainder of the session was spent discussing a company proposal that would change collecting Union dues to a flat rate even though we showed that they are currently collecting Union dues at a flat rate not a percentage
The next meeting with the Company is scheduled for next week.
