Bargaining Update Top Issues 10-15-2012
The bargaining team evaluated the "Top Issues" recently sent in by the locals and states.
After developing a list of demands, the bargaining team met with the company for an informal discussion about our top issues. After lengthy discussions it was determined that there were no easy solutions and it would be extremely difficult to move the company off what was agreed upon in the Tentative Agreement and acceptable to both parties.
At this point we decided to return to formal bargaining. Our issues were formalized and passed across the table on Friday, October 12, 2012 discussion around the issues began and continued for the rest of the day.
We recessed for the weekend while the company prepared responses to our demands.
We are scheduled to meet with the company Monday October 15, 2012.
