2011 CWA/ATT Mobility Puerto Rico Bargaining Report #10

Your bargaining Committee met with the company this morning to continue discussions. The company provided data on their policy in case of service emergencies as requested by the Union. They stated that is all they have to present at this time.  

The Union passed a counter proposal to the company proposal on Article 23 – Holidays, requesting additional pay for employees working Holidays not listed in Section 4. The Union passed new proposals on Article 20 –Travel, adding language from the District 3 contract relating to temporary assignment travel, and Article 16 – Safety, regarding the company providing necessary tools and equipment. The Union then Tentatively Agreed (T/A) to company counter proposals on Article 7 – Grievance time lines, Article 14 – Force Adjustment notification, and Article 21 – Absences regarding sections 5 & 6. The Union then passed a new proposal on Article 21 – Absences, regarding leave time, and excused time for civic duties such election workers and voting.

That was all the parties had to present for this session so we recessed to continue to work on additional proposals.

We resumed bargaining this afternoon and the company provided responses to the following Union proposals: Rejected the Union proposal on Article 16 – Safety regarding providing appropriate tools and material and passed counter proposals on Article 19 – Basis of Compensation, rejecting most of the Union proposals that involved any increases. The company stated they were happy with the current provisions in the Article. The company passed a counter to the Union Proposal on Article 21 related to leaves of absence and on excused time for court appearances.

Neither party had anything else to present so we recessed to continue to work on additional proposals, prepare minutes and reports.

Bargaining will resume tomorrow morning and a report will be issued after the meeting concludes.
