2011 CWA/ATT Mobility Puerto Rico Bargaining Report #11

Your bargaining Committee met with the company this morning to continue discussions. The company stated that at this time they had nothing new to propose nor did they have any responses to previous bargaining proposals from the Union

The Union passed a revised proposal on Article 19 – Basis of Compensation, to respond to the company rejection of our previous proposal. The Union requested differentials for employees required to speak in different languages as well as employees required to have government issued licenses in order to perform their job, and for those employees in Retail who are required to open and/or close stores/kiosks. The company said they would review our request and get back to us. The Union then passed a revised proposal on Article 21 – Absences, to clarify excused time for court appearances; a new proposal on Article 22 – Vacations, to add flexibility for employees to take some days in hourly increments, and a new proposal to add language for the option for Exchange time. The company also said they would look at these and get back to us.

The Union Tentatively Agreed (T/A) to the company response to our proposal on Article 20 – Travel, to add paid travel time for temporary assignments.

We then recessed to continue to work on additional proposals. We are scheduled to resume at 4:00 pm today so the next bargaining report will be tomorrow.

We are three days away from contract expiration and the company has yet to give serious consideration to any proposals that involve compensation. Now is the time for you to step up mobilization and let the company know you deserve to share in the success they are enjoying in Puerto Rico!

In Unity,

Your CWA Mobility Bargaining team

(Note: Tentative agreements are contingent on reaching an overall agreement)
