2011 CWA/ATT Mobility Puerto Rico Bargaining Report #13

Your Bargaining Committee met with the company this morning and passed a revised proposal on Article 19 – Basis of compensation, to add language for the Christmas Bonus and increase the payout. We passed revised proposals on Article 21 – Absences to further clarify our previous proposal; Article 22 – vacations, to restate our position regarding the need for more flexible time for members to take care of personal needs. We also passed a counter proposal on Article 23 – Holidays, requesting the company to pay Puerto Rico employees the same as those in the States when they work any Holiday.

The company complained about the economic impact our proposals would have but said they would look at them and get back to us.

The company passed an economic proposal on wages and benefits which included a slight increase in wages for each year of a proposed four year agreement. They did not propose any increase in the level of benefits. The Union stated we were disappointed in the proposal in light of the financial success of AT&T Mobility in Puerto Rico; however we would get back to them with our response.

We plan to meet later today so the next report will be tomorrow.

Remember to wear black tomorrow and do whatever is necessary to send a message to AT&T Mobility that we want a fair contract and we want it NOW!

In Unity,

Your CWA Mobility Bargaining team

(Note: Tentative agreements are contingent on reaching an overall agreement)
