Your Bargaining Committee met with the company this morning and passed a proposal on Future Healthcare bargaining for Puerto Rico employees. We proposed the creation of two joint committees, one to look at Job Upgrades in the future, and one to look at Job Satisfaction issues. We also requested clarification on previous questions.
The company clarified their proposal on a 401K for new hires and provided a copy of the latest Plan document on it. The company then rejected the Union proposed changes in letters on Subcontracting, Timely Disciplinary Actions, and the Alliance for Employee Growth. They passed counter proposals on Letters of Agreement regarding the Strategic Alliance Committee (SAC) and on Personnel Records. The company passed another Economic Proposal that improved the previously proposed wage increase slightly and increased a ratification bonus proposal.
The Union took a recess to review the new proposal. When we returned to the table we notified the company the proposed increase was still insufficient considering the profitability of the company and the needs of our members. The company said they would look at the economics again and get back to us. The company then notified us that they were rejecting our proposal on the Christmas Bonus and had no desire to put language in the contract regarding the Bonus.
We then left the table to attend a rally in support of our bargaining by CWA members in Georgia and Alabama as well as from other Unions.
We will continue to meet throughout the afternoon and evening in hopes of reaching an agreement that will be acceptable for the membership. The next bargaining report will be issued after we conclude bargaining.
In Unity,
Your CWA Mobility Bargaining team
(Note: Tentative agreements are contingent on reaching an overall agreement)
