Your bargaining Committee met with the Company Friday to continue discussions. The company provided data on their proposal for changes in how Part Time employee’s hours are calculated for Holidays. They also provided a copy of the Company policy of travel. The Union asked clarifying questions regarding travel outside of Puerto Rico and Victor Menendez, Company Chair provided examples. The company then passed counter proposals to Union proposals on Article 7 – Grievance Procedure, and on the Union’s counter proposal on Article 21 – Absences. That is all the company had for this session.

The Union provided data showing company managers have not responded to grievances and related data in a timely manner over the last two years. The company said this was the first they had heard this but will consider our proposal.

The Union then said we could Tentatively Agree (T/A) to the company response on Union proposal for Article 17– Company Union Relationship, and on Article 12 – Hours of Work, regarding minimum rest time between extended work periods. The Union then passed a proposal on Article 19 – Basis of Compensation, increasing several differentials, pay protection, new differentials and adding language to improve existing provisions.

Neither party had anything else to present so we recessed to continue to work on additional proposals, prepare minutes and reports. Since next week is the final week before the contract expires, Your committee will be working through the weekend to prepare all proposals we intend to present as well as responses to the company questions on previous proposals.

We are not scheduled to meet with the company again until Monday morning. A Bargaining Report will be issued at the conclusion of the meeting.

In Unity,

Your CWA Mobility Bargaining team

(Note: Tentative agreements are contingent on reaching an overall agreement)
