2015 CWA ATT SE Bargaining Report #52
Your bargaining team met with the company today. The company still shows little sign of movement.
Today the company rejected including the observance of an additional paid holiday recognizing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Their reason – employees already have enough days off. It is disgusting that the 23rd largest company in the world, based in Dallas, equates honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr to paid time off. AT&T would like us to believe that cost is the primary issue for the Telecom giant’s apathy toward the holiday.
AT&T spends $19 million annually to put its name on the Cowboy’s stadium, at least $18 million annually on the Masters Golf Tournament, $2.7 million per year to sponsor the San Francisco Giants Stadium, and $2 million annually to sponsor the San Antonio Spurs ATT Center. AT&T spends 1.1 billion dollars on its advertising budget, the 4th largest in the US.
We will not tolerate these execrable ideals by the company. We mean business and we intend to prove it. Stand up with us for what’s right: Families; Equal Treatment; Fairness; Healthcare and Respect.
Special thanks to CWA Local 3111 for the bargaining kit; for the wonderful lunch provided by the State of Alabama and to Sarah Walker with American Retirement Solutions for the cookies.
