2015 CWA Print Media Bargaining Report #14 -October 20, 2015
The Bargaining Committee met with the Company today (October 20) and informed the Company that we are unable to entertain their proposal regarding Employment Security. In our opinion, the language in the proposal is not in the best interest of our members. In addition, we presented a counter proposal to the Company designed to expedite the bargaining process. The matter of the special Christmas days was also discussed and we informed the Company that we would not entertain any type of discussion on those days that were predicated on agreeing to changes in practices or policies currently within the bargaining agreement. We stand firm in our belief that there are more important issues to be discussed before prematurely agreeing to certain items in order to secure a few days off in between the Christmas and New Years.
The Bargaining Committee also submitted a wage increase proposal to the Company.
