2015 CWA Print Media Bargaining Report #15

The Bargaining Committee met with the Company today (November 2) and once again discussed their proposal to change language in Article 7 and in Article 8. It has become more apparent that the Company is not willing to resolve this sticking point in a manner that is acceptable to your Bargaining Committee. The changes that they are proposing have now been escalated to the Vice-President of CWA District 3 and to the CEO of Print Media.

In addition, we also discussed the special Christmas days and the possibility of allowing those people who desire to take the time off without pay and not have it recorded as an occurrence.

Also discussed was the Companies proposal to make changes to the current language regarding Sickness Payments prior to Short Term Disability.

The next meeting with the Company is scheduled for Tuesday November 3, 2015.

In Unity,

M.M. Smith - Chairperson
