2015 CWA Print Media Bargaining Report #16
The Bargaining Committee met with the Company today (November 3rd) and discussed changes to the current healthcare benefits. The Company has proposed to revise healthcare benefits for our members in order to align the plan with those currently being offered to non-bargained employees/managers.
The Company presented language that was accepted by CWA District 6 as a basis for this proposal.
The Company also requested that a change to the bargaining schedule be made in order to continue negotiations the week of Nov. 9th in hopes of reaching a tentative agreement and the Bargaining Committee received.
The Company proposed and the Bargaining Committee tentatively agreed to changes in the Authorized Holiday policy and the Optional Holiday policy.
The Bargaining Committee members will spend the remaining portion of this week proofreading and preparing all outstanding and accepted proposals in preparation for finalizing negotiations.
The next meeting with the Company is scheduled for Tuesday November 10, 2015.
