2015 CWA Print Media Bargaining Report #9

August 26, 2015  --The Bargaining Committee met with the company today and delivered a proposal to add a successor ship clause to the contract in the event Print Media changes hands at any time in the future. The Bargaining Committee also presented a proposal to reintroduce Tuition Aid as an employee benefit. The Bargaining Committee submitted a proposal to reinstate the Continuous Improvement Council.  The Bargaining Committee presented a proposal to increase the 401k company matching percentage.

The company presented a revised proposal to the Bargaining Committee surrounding Article 7 Force Adjustment/Layoff.

The Bargaining Committee discussed company proposed changes surrounding Article 1.19, the changing of a normal tour day from 7 ½ hour days to 8 hour days.

The Bargaining Committee discussed company proposed changes to Article 5.01, the current Authorized Holiday schedule. It is the company’s desire to align the days with the same days currently offered to management.

The next meeting with the Company is scheduled for Thursday August 27, 2015.
