AT&T SE - Combination Technician Bargaining Report #2
This morning the Combination Technician Bargaining Team met with AT&T’s bargaining team to begin negotiations over the wage rate for the Combination Technician job title. The company initially proposed to slot the new Combination Technician into Wage Scale 32.
Our team went to the bargaining table today and countered the company’s initial proposal. The proposal drafted by our bargaining team would create a new wage scale that is above the existing Wage Scale 32. After the Union passed their proposal, the company reiterated their position that the Combination Technician job title should be slotted into Wage Scale 32. The Union explained that the company’s proposed combination of job duties from multiple titles warrants a significant increase in the wage rate for the Combination Technician job title.
Following discussions over the wage rate, the Union asked a number of questions concerning the company’s plans for utilizing the Combination Technician job title in the various departments. Ultimately, we weren’t able to obtain any substantial information, but the company has committed to researching for answers to some of our questions. The parties agreed to meet again later today. We will distribute further information as it becomes available.
