Bargaining Report: BBI & Utility Report # 23
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Yesterday we met with the company and received what they labeled as their final offer. The package included:
· Increased excused time for Union Activity
· MLK Day added to the contract
· Increase Lay off Allowance
· Illness time 5 days
· Adding stepbrother, stepsister, spouse’s grandparents, and legally recognized partner for bereavement pay
The package did not address our concerns relating to:
· Overtime cap reduction
· Double Time after 54 hours
· 10% pay increase before the general wage increase
· Introduction of a PMR process
· Personal Days counting towards overtime build
· Differential for direct bore teams
· Increased Personal Time Off
· Increase Commuting expenses
· Increased travel allowance
· Training differential
We met with the company again today and informed them of the importance/worth of the Machine Operators. Our issues are still on the table, and we will continue to fight for work life balance as well as monetary improvements for the Machine Operators.
The company is not willing to address some of our issues on the table unless we give them something on Unlimited overtime. The bargaining team is looking at making some minor changes that will still allow our members to work the overtime, if they want it, and at the same time protect members who do not want to work as much.
When We Fight, We Win!
We demand more in 2024!
Thank you all for your continued support.
In Unity,
Your Bargaining team
