CWA ATT SE Tentative Agreement -- Additional Info on Time Off

Our CWA members work hard and deserve adequate time off the job and the flexibility to use this time when needed. CWA has made improvements in this area over the years. In this bargaining session, we continued and increased flexibility by:

  • Increasing Flexible Excused Work Days – In addition to Easy Time, Consumer Services and Small Business Services employees may now schedule two of their EWDS to be used flexibly. This time can be taken in at least one hour increments based on the employee’s personal need to take the time.
  • New Flexible Vacation Days – Further, employees in Consumer Services now have the flexibility to use two vacation days in increments of one hour or more because of personal reasons.
  • Expanding Immediate Family – We have a number of members with spouses that have grandparents. It is extremely important for our members to be granted time off with pay for the death of these relatives without it counting against their attendance. We were successful in adding the spouse’s grandparents to the immediate family definition.
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday – It is important to our members to take a day off to celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King, Jr. The Company committed to give every consideration to allow employees to take the day off as one of their paid days.
  • Continuing Easy Time – Employees in Consumer Services and Consumer Collections in Finance will continue to be able to schedule up to 2 full vacation days to be used in 15 minute increments due to personal needs and/or family obligations. Combining all the flexible days gives employees in Consumer six full days that can be used flexibility.
  • Continuing the Flexible Vacation Day – Employees in the Customer Assistance Bureau in Jacksonville, Florida that handle our large business customers continue the ability to use one vacation day flexibly in increments of one hour or more because of personal reasons.
  • Vacation – We recognize the importance of vacation. We understand that vacation is used to re-energize and spend time with our families. I want to emphasize that your eligibility for vacation has not changed. And your ability to schedule and take your vacation has not changed. Vacation paid in lieu to employees who leave the Company due to lay off, PMR, SIPP, ESIPP, retirement, death or military service has not changed.
