CWA D3 ATT SE Utilities Bargaining Report #2
Your Utilities Bargaining committee met today with AT&T Company representatives Friday and again this morning.
Friday the Union presented proposals to add sickness payments, and to add new work that is currently contracted out, including a proposed trial on some new work opportunities. We also passed a proposal to put the Utility Operations employees in the Bell South Telecommunications contract.
The company again responded that they could not increase the cost of doing business but they would consider and respond later. The company passed proposals to eliminate the inclement weather letter and premium pay for Sundays.
We recessed to evaluate the proposals and formulate additional ones.
The bargaining committee met this morning to pass additional proposals on bridging service for recalled employees, differential for operating a directional boring rig, and limits on forced overtime. The company said they would consider the proposals and get back to us.
The Union then rejected the company proposals on temporary employee language, vacation accrual, inclement weather, and Sunday premium pay.
The company did not have any responses or new proposals.
Your committee will continue to work on proposals and responses to the company. Updated reports will be issued after we meet again
