CWA D3 ATT SE Utilities Bargaining Report #6 @ 6:15 p.m.
Your Utilities Bargaining committee met Thursday afternoon with AT&T Company representatives in continued discussions with little results on any improvements in the current contract. The Union gave the company a revised proposal on a minor increase in Travel expenses. The company said they understood and would consider but it would add expense to the organization.
The company tentatively agreed to our proposal on bridging time for recalled employees. The company then rejected Union proposals on adding one additional personal day, and our modified proposal on the medical restriction upon return from Short Term Disability letter.
The company gave the Union a modified proposal on vacation accrual that is consistent with the one proposed at the BST table. We will consider the changes and respond back.
There were no scheduled meetings yesterday. Your committee continued to work on responses and new or revised proposals. The company has not agreed to any proposals that involve additional expense, stating they have to wait and see the cost of the wage and benefit package being bargained at the Common Interest Table (CIT). The Union committee has proposed to make Utility Operations employees eligible for all the core benefits.
We will continue to meet today and this evening in an attempt to achieve the best possible agreement for the members in the Utility Operations bargaining unit. With the midnight expiration fast approaching, the outlook is not positive.
Updated reports will be issued after we meet again.
