Your Mobility Bargaining committee met today with AT&T Company representatives and each Chair gave opening remarks prior to start of bargaining. Before the opening remarks, more than 30 mobility members came to great the company in a message of solidarity. Members carried a picture of their family and told the Company: “This is who we are bargaining for” telling AT&T that the effect of this process goes beyond the bargaining table to the members and their families. This also meant that the Green Contract has a face. We thank all of the members that use their personal time to come today, this is what solidarity looks like!
Scott Simmons, Chair for the Company Bargaining Committee stated: “Our business continues to change, with significant disruptions to the marketplace. It is critical for Mobility to react to rapidly changing market conditions. Thus, we must retain flexibility with work rules and employee incentives that allow us to quickly react to competition. Also, good attendance is critical to providing and maintaining quality customer service and we still have work to do on this issue.”
District 3 Vice President Richard Honeycutt gave opening remarks (attached) emphasizing that: “AT&T’s most valuable asset is its employees, CWA members. We come before you today to demand changes that are life affecting for our members, such as job protection, fair compensation, and quality benefits without additional cost sharing. These are just a few of the items we will be discussing at the table.”

Su Comité Negociador se reunió hoy con la compañía AT&T. Los portavoces de cada comité presentaron sus respectivos mensajes de apertura. Antes de los mensajes de apertura más de 30 unionados se dieron cita para recibir la compañía, en un mensaje de solidaridad portando fotos de sus seres queridos y le dejaron saber a la compañía “Por ellos estamos negociando”, aclarándole a la compañía que este proceso va mas allá que la mesa de negociación, impactando a nuestros miembros y sus familias. Esto significa que el convenio ya tiene un rostro. Les agradecemos a todos los que usaron su tiempo libre para acompañarnos y demostrar solidaridad
Scott Simmons, el portavoz del comité de negociación de la compañía, afirmó: "Nuestro negocio sigue cambiando, con grandes retos en el mercado. Es fundamental que Mobility reaccione a las condiciones de mercado que cambian rápidamente. Por lo tanto, debemos mantener la flexibilidad con las reglas de trabajo y los incentivos de los empleados que nos permitan reaccionar rápidamente ante la competencia. Además, la buena asistencia es fundamental para proporcionar y mantener un servicio al cliente de calidad y todavía tenemos trabajo que hacer en este tema.”
El Vicepresidente del Distrito 3, Richard Honeycutt, ofreció sus comentarios de apertura (adjuntos) enfatizando que: “El activo más valioso de AT&T son sus empleados, miembros de la CWA. Hoy nos encontramos ante ustedes para exigir cambios que afectan la vida de nuestros miembros como lo son la protección de empleo, la compensación justa y los beneficios de calidad sin compartir costos adicionales. Estos son sólo algunos de los elementos que se discutirán en la mesa de negociación”
