Local 3905

CWA Local 3905 member helped assist in a campaign that garnered national attention.

Tequila Horne is the Collections VP for Local 3905 in Huntsville, Al. Tequila also serves as the chair of the Locals Legislative and PAF committee. On March 26th Marilyn Lands won the special election for the vacant state house seat for district 10 located in North Alabama. This election received national attention mainly because of Marilyn's stance to repeal Alabama's no exception abortion-ban. Tequila took the lead and reached out to Marilyn Lands. She accepted an invitation to the February membership meeting. The Local also reached out to her opponent Teddy Powell however we didn't receive a response. Marilyn told the membership about her pro labor background and how she would stand with CWA. Tequila volunteered hours of her time assisting with the campaign. She helped with voter registration, phone banking, and leafleting. Tequila was interviewed on CNN at Marilyn's home and helped with a major fundraising event.  Marilyn has already stood with labor to help fight against an anti labor bill SB-231 that threatens to eliminate the card check process in Alabama.
