CWA D3 PR-AT&T MOBILITY BARGAINING REPORT #35

Dear sisters and brothers:

During the past few days, your CWA Bargaining Committee has been working analyzing the last pieces of information that we received from the Company.  There is still a lot of outstanding information that the Company stills owes the Union that might jeopardize our chances to secure an agreement.  If AT&T is really serious on getting a fair contract, why have they not provided all the requested information?  What are they hiding?  On the other hand, your bargaining committee has been working with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on the labor charges filed by the Union and we are hoping to hear from the agency anytime soon.  We are ready and prepared for our bargaining session next Wednesday May 29.  

Our goal is still to secure a contract that will ensure good wages and benefits but most importantly job security.  We deserve the security of a job and the protections against unfair and unjust surplus.  We deserve job guarantees and the commitment from the company that contractors or vendors won’t take our jobs.  This is what we are fighting for, the preservation of good jobs today and in the future.  We have received many concerns from our members in the field about the increase use of subcontractor and the quality issues that our members had to fixed after a contractor went to a job.  We are collecting all of that data and will share it with the Company in our next bargaining session.

Let’s show the company we are serious about our contract!  Get involved and contact your union steward, your Local leadership and your CWA bargaining committee if you have questions.  Remember we are visiting each location and are available to answer each and all of your questions.
 
Don’t get fooled by corporate greed!  We want to have a fair union contract with AT&T Mobility.  Working people deserve job security, fair wages, affordable healthcare, and retirement security.  We are Moving Forward Never Backwards! Pa’Lante Siempre!  AT&T: Where is the Fairness? Show us!

Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

Durante los últimos días, su Comité de Negociación de CWA, ha estado analizando los últimos datos que recibimos de la Compañía. Todavía hay una gran cantidad de información pendiente que la Compañía aún le debe a la Unión que podría poner en peligro nuestras posibilidades de lograr un acuerdo. Si AT&T realmente desea lograr un contrato justo, ¿por qué no han proporcionado toda la información solicitada? ¿Qué están escondiendo? Por otro lado, su comité de negociación ha estado trabajando con la Junta Nacional de Relaciones del Trabajo (NLRB, por sus siglas en inglés) con los cargos federales presentados por la Unión y esperamos recibir noticias de la agencia pronto.  Estamos listos y preparados para nuestra sesión de negociación el próximo miércoles 29 de mayo.

Nuestro objetivo es y sigue siendo asegurar un contrato que garantice buenos salarios y beneficios, pero lo más importante seguridad de empleo. Nos merecemos la seguridad de un trabajo y las protecciones contra cesantías injustas en inmerecidas.  Nos merecemos las garantías de trabajo y el compromiso de la empresa de que los contratistas o “vendors” no asumirán nuestros trabajos mientras nos dejan en la calle. Esto es por lo que estamos luchando, la preservación de buenos empleos hoy y en el futuro.  Hemos recibido muchas inquietudes de nuestros miembros en el área de trabajo sobre el aumento en el uso de subcontratistas y los problemas de calidad que nuestros miembros han tenido que corregir después de que un contratista realizó un trabajo. Estamos recopilando todos esos datos y los compartiremos con la Compañía en nuestra próxima sesión de negociación.

Muchas gracias a los miembros que asistieron a nuestro entrenamiento de movilización esta semana. Un agradecimiento especial a Nicole Figueredo del local 3121, por su compromiso con todos los miembros de AT&T Mobility siempre y por su ayuda en la capacitación en Puerto Rico.

Participa y actívate, comuníquese con su representante sindical, el liderato de la local y su comité negociador de CWA si tienes preguntas. Recuerde que estamos visitando cada localidad y estamos disponibles para responder todas y cada una de sus dudas.
