2015 AT&T Puerto Rico Mobility Bargaining Report #2

Your Bargaining Committee met with the Company Representatives Tuesday morning and afternoon to continue discussions. The Union passed two bargaining proposals to clarify or improve language in Article 6- Non Discrimination, and Article 16-Safety. This in addition to five proposals that were passed on Monday, February 9, 2015.

Cablevision and CEO James Dolan Found Guilty of Multiple Violations of Federal Labor Law

New York, NY ? A Federal Administrative Law Judge ruled late Thursday that Cablevision and its CEO James Dolan had broken multiple labor laws in an attempt to stop workers in Brooklyn and the Bronx from unionizing. The union that represents the workers, the Communications Workers of America, vowed to press the City to begin a process to bring the company into compliance with its cable franchise, and if necessary declare it in default of the franchise, for violations of the labor rights provisions of the agreement. The franchise requires the company to comply with Federal labor law.

CWA District 3 Current and Upcoming Bargaining

Bargaining is just around the corner for Mobility in Puerto Rico and then AT&T SE. We know we are in for a battle with both companies. In the District today, we have two (2) Frontier and three (3) CenturyLink contracts being bargained. Currently one Local in Florida has two CenturyLink contracts where they are waiting for dates in December to return to the bargaining table. We have Rick Feinstein chairing all CenturyLink and Frontier contracts, J.C. Smith is chairing Highland Telephone Cooperative and Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative and Mike Fahrenholt is chairing ADT/TYCO.
