Last December Alcatel-Lucent decided to outsource its entire Finance Operations worldwide. The finance functions in Alpharetta, GA were contracted to WIPRO. Our members were offered VTP and offered jobs in WIPRO doing the same work, in the same place and carrying over many of their wages and benefits - BUT NOT THEIR UNION

CWA District 3 Welcomes New Members: Piedmont Airlines Ramp & Gate Agents

District 3 would like to welcome our newest members into the CWA; Piedmont Airlines Ramp and Gate agents, who have been trying for over 8 years to join the union! They succeeded on November 4th, 2010 in a vote that was 2 to 1 in favor of representation. There were 2,867 eligible employees voting, 1107 voted to join the CWA, out of 1808 valid votes.

Piedmont Agents vote "CWA Yes"

Washington, D.C. - The 3,000 fleet and passenger service agents at Piedmont Airlines now have a union voice, as agents voted by a two-to-one margin for representation by the Communications Workers of America. Ballots were counted today by the National Mediation Board.
